He proposed to ask the Council to ;mmediately adjourn as a mark of respect, after the passage of the following resolution: — "The Council has learned with deep regret of the recent death of .Mrs. W. Levin, a. daughter of the Honourable Speaker, .and desires to express to the Speaker and his family the sincere sympathy ivliich all members of the Council feel, tor them in their great sorrow and debreavement." A cable message was received recently by his brother, Mr.- Samuel Hordern, intimating that the 'condition of the young lieutenant was not'serious. Mr. Lebbeus Hordern left for England last year witli tho intention of enrolling in the Royal Flying Corps, bi.it lie subsequently joined the Royal Field' Artillery, with a commission as second lien-, tenant. In the early days of the war he presented his hydroplnne;. then a familiar sight daily flying over Sydney, to the Commonwealth Government, for ■use with the fleet.
