LEGION OF FRONTIERSMEN

Special, Reporter.).: Palmerston North, June 22. ■A- conference of delegates, representing all squads and troops of the : North Island Division of the Legion of Frontiersmen, commenced at Palmerston this morning.;' Captain E. Desterro, of Auckland. Staff Officer of N.Z.,'presided over some 25 delegates. The total strength of the Legion in the North .Island, is 1700 members, of whom 1200 are on active .service.

The proceedings at the conference were enthusiastically entered into, chiefly on the question.of aiding any organisation for "industrial purposes that'may be decided iipon by the Government.." It was decided that any assistance the Legion may render the Government, relative' to the operation of the 'Military Service Bill- would be heartily given.
