Napier, June 19. • ■ At a crowded meeting in the Municipal ' Theatre to-night, When Lady Stout gave an anti-German address, the following ' /resolutions were carried:— "That this large, and representative ' meeting of the citizens of Napier hereby ■ unanimously resolve that the Prime' Minister be respectfully requested'to at once havo legislation passed to prevent any naturalised British subject of German parentage from holding or being appoint'ed to the position, of member of the legislative Council, House of Represents, tives, or council of any local authority, or from voting with any such elections, i.. "That this meeting views with alarm .the amount of German duplicity carrier! - on throughout the .British Empire, and urges' the Government to take stronger measures when dealing with the question of interning Germans in this Do. minion. "That this meeting respectfully requests the Prime Minister to take up as a-Government measure the Bill introduced by Mr. Vigor Brown, entitled ' Naturalised Subjeots 'Franchise Bill."
