The Pateena, which lias been undergoing overhaul, is to resume in the Pieton-Ncl-son service to-day, leaving at 12.45 p.m. The Takapuna. finished 'UP her running on arrival on Saturday evening, lay up indefinitely. ' * ■The Government steamer Hinemoa, which has been on nil extensive, voyage in northern waters, is expected to return to Wellington on Wednesday. Owing to the late arrival of the Rosamond on Saturday, it was impossible to get her away for Napier oh Saturday evening. She is now sclioduled to leave at noon to-day for Napier.

The Karamu did not, as was anticipated, get away on Saturday for Picton and Onehunga. The vessel : is now to depart for Now .Plymouth, and she will leave at 3 o'clock to-day. Cargo will be accepted up till noon. Tlio Karu is to leave jGreyinoutli early this week with timber fo! - Wellington. She wit! load here for Kew Plymouth.

It 1s expected to dispatch the collier Koma/t»a for Westport- to-day. .

The Shaw-Savill liner Athenic is now expected to. leave for tli© south. to-morrow. It was announced ,a few days ago that the schooner Morning Light- had boon purchased by the Canterbury Shipping Company, and would be used as a store ship temporarily, and would ultimately proceed to wanganui, to bo used as a lighter. Captain Monro lias now disposed of tlio vessel to the Christchurch Meat Company, who intend to use her at Wanganui in connection with the , meat works at that port. The vessel will, procecd to Wangjanui about September next, and it is reported that there ia a probability of the vessel being-fitted with oil engines to fit her for t-lio new-trade for which she will be utilised. •
