STEAMER LOST ON A REEF
THIRTY LIVES LOST. By Tclegraph-l'rcss Association-Copyright San Francisco, June 15. The San Francisco ami Portland Company's steamer Bear, 4507 tons, struck a reef off tho California coast in a fog at midnight. ' The-passengers took to the boats, aftrr' some panic, but were unable to. land on the rock shore owing to surf. Several boats were capsized, and thirty people are reported to be drowned, and 150 rescued.
