| . . • . . ANNUAL MEETING. There was only a small attendance ot members at the annual general meeting of the Wellington Rose and Carnation Club last evening. Mr. J. B. Harcourt presided. In proposing tlio adoption of tho annual report, the chairman said that he was extremely sorry to see such a small attendance. .This was no doubt due to so many of tlieir members having been engaged in assisting in the street collections in connection with "Naval Day. - ' Reference was made to the .work of beautifying the grounds adjacent to the Zoo at Newtown Park during the past year. He congratulated the elub o.i its strong financial position, also on its membership. In conclusion, Mr. Har- f court said that ho hoped that tho coming year w«uld be as successful as the past'one. The report and balance-sheet were adopted. The election of officers resulted as follows:—Patroness, Her Excellency Lady Liverpool; president, Mr. J. B. Harcourt; vice-president. Mesdames A. Peavce. H. M. Gore, C. F. Yallance, J. P. Luke, W. Turnbull, Miss R. M. , Joseph', Messrs. H. A. Fox, J. J. Kerslake, C. W. Tringham, W. Bourke, G.Remington, A. Lawrence, and Dr. Hislop; management committee, Messrs. W. ■T. Thompson, H. Baillie, A. Richards, W. A. Rend, W. J. Harland, G. Jeffrey, and W. Bock; lion, treasurer. Mr. W. J. Burch; hon. auditor, Mr. R. M. Griffiths; hon. secretary. Mr. Stanley G. Pearce.
