This letter "contained a cheque for J82250, to be used ,in the purcliaso of an aeroplane for war use by thelmperial - Army, and Mr. Holdsworth asked the ,• Prime Minister to forward tho money to the proper authorities. Mr. Holdsworth offered the suggestion also' that the aeroplane be named the "Maori." Mr. Massey, said it was scarcely necessary for him to tell the House that lie' had' much pleasure in receiving _ tho .cheque and acknowledging tho patriotic generosity -of the company. He would forward the cheque to the proper authorities as requested, and he hoped that the Maori would be as'successful in the nir as the New Zealand- had been on tho water. .. ■ Mr. Payne: Why not call it the transport scandal?.
