It was alleged that Rice- was conducting Lieutenant Lucas round the brewery. The Fusiliers' .guard wcro jumpy, and suspected that Lucas-and Rico'were rebels. Lucas opened a window, which was oontrary to*instructions. Flood arrested Lucas and ltice and shot them. Lieutenant Warwick came un and rushed Flood, and the guard fired, Killing Warwick. (Rec. June 14, G.lO p.m.) London, June H. Sergeant Flood gave evidenco that many circumstances combined to cause liin\ to suspect Lucas aJitl Rice. He fully believed that treachery was afoot, and therefore arrested them.- He believed thefl, and now, that the brewery would have been captured if he had not shot the prisoners. Flood added that lis, dill not believe that-the officer ho snot was Lucas, but somebody impersonating him. A verdiot if not guilty was returned, and Flood was released.
