MOTOR-CAR CAPSIZES,
■/■('.'. /■ ; , By Telegraph—Prc:>.s Assncijlion. Woodville, June 10. A. narrow escape from a fatal accident occurred yesterday.' A car containing .Councillors Norman, M'Pherson, and the overseer, and owned and driven by the former, was going to Mangaatua Valley,' and when. going round a bend the car-ran -up the side of a cutting, turning completely over, pinning Mr. Norman down, and flinging the others out. Mr. Norman was taken to a private hospital at' Dannevirke. Mr. M'Pherson escaped ■with a few eeratchos, nnd Mr. Lehndorf, the overseer, will be incapacitated for a few days. Mr. Norman sustained a dislocated shoulder, severe scalp wounds, and bruises. The car was badly damaged. ; WHARF ACCIDENT. On Saturday morning Joseph Franklin, wharf-labourer, Brooklyn, was admitted to the Public Hospital suffering from injuries to his shoulder. The injuries were received through a stack of wool at tho wharf collapsing, and one of the .bales striking Franklin. He is progressing favourably.
