Surely the very day on which-this awful news has veached us should have been kept as a day for thought and indeed mourning. Yet the Auckland Racing Club could not postpone or indefinitely cancel their race meeting. I, with many others In this centri', consider it is absolutely disgraceful that the Auckland Racing Club held their meeting to-day, and thai anyone could find the heart to attend bame.—l am, etc., DISGUSTED.
