NATIONAL RESERVE
Lieut. Anderson was the officer commanding at last evening's parade of the Petone unit of tho National Reserve. The platoon was instructed in squad drill by Sergt. Smith, and at a meeting held subsequently arrangements were made to hold a smoke concert, at which a sendoff .will be given to several members of tho unit who have enlisted. Invitations to the various O.C.'s in the company are to bo sent, and the O.C. the Railway unit. It was intimated that arrangements had practically been concluded for the changing of the drill night to Tuesday in each week, and although it had been announced previously that the hall would not be available oil that evening, owing tc its being occupied by tho Railway unit,. it was now possible to cliah™ the night. Consequently the first .parade in this connection will be held on Tuesday.. evening, June 20.
