MIRAMAR BOROUGH COUNCIL
A meeting of the Miraumr Borough Council was held last evening, Mr. F. Townsend (Mayor) presiding. The fol-. lowing were also present:—Councillors S.' H. "Underwood, AV. K. Green, J. Pollock, 8. 31. Stone, H. Hawthorne, 1 and M. Tracey. •
... It was decided to leave matters in connection with the electric lighting over till further details have been supplied by the City Council. The Mayor and Councillors Underwood and Pollock were appointed delegates to attend a further conference of local bodies in regard to this year's Hospital and Charitable Aid. Board's levies.
It was resolved to send a letter of .thanks and appreciation to the Ocean Accident Insurance Company for a donation of ,£lO towards tho funds given to one of tho council's employees who had met with an accident over two years ago. It was stated that the council had sought to recover a certain sum in connection with this case, but it was found that the insurance company was not liable.
The City Solicitor forwarded an account for Ms work in connection with the electric light Agreement. .Councillors were of the opinion that his -notion was "rather hard on the Miraninr Council." H was finally decided-to refer the letter buck'to the City .Corporation.
