The Fourteenth Infantry Reinforcements, . Numbering about 1400 men, route marchcd from Featherston. to Trenthain, across the Rimutaka Hill, yesterday. Though the weather had threatened on the' previous flight, and rain fell during the early .hours of the morning, the weather for the march was lino. The troops had a rousing reception as they passed through leatherston, and the ascent of the hill was made in good time. The usual refreshments 'were provided at the Summit. After partaking of the and enjoying a brief rest, the Fourteeiith start- -. ou the march to Collett's Farm, at Kaitoke, where they bivouacked last night. Yesterday afternoon Colonel C. 11. Gibbon, Chief of the General Staff, the Camp Commandant at Trentham, lieuit.-Colonel' H. R. Potter, and the Camp Adjutant, Captain E. C. Dovey, visited the bivouac. During the, march, ■which will conclude on Saturday, _ ilie troops are under the charge of Lieut.Colonel C. R. Macdonald, Cliief Infantry Instructor. Thq -weather indications last night were for a cold night, in the bivouac, but there were no signsi of rain.
