Dows were sent to Trentham yesterday to join the 17th Infantry. iTesterday the following eighteen men were enrolled at Buckle Street as fit foiactive service:— W. 0. Hughes, steward, Newtown. T. A. V. Johnson, driver. S. A. Strong, dental mechanic, City, ' L. C. liaine, telegraphist, City. Francis It. Aveling, shipping cleric, Thorndon. J. ltae, clerk. City. H. Gardiner, labourer, City. F. J. Jlouat, Civil Servant, City. iAV. H. Meyrick, drivel; Thorndon. S. W. Brown, driver, City. H. R. Fahey, telegraphist. City.
