Mr. ,6. N. Pharazyn, of Napier, will leave next week for England, Tlhe death occurred in Christchurch on Friday of Mr. Charles Milton Price, an officer of the Post and Telegraph Department, who was very well known throughout New Zealand. Ho was born in Picton 49 j;ears ago. The late Mr. Price was | stationed for some years in Wellington. He was an enthusiastic member of the Masonic Craft, and had been for many years a member of New Zealand Pacific, Wellington. Constable Stevens, who for the past two years has. been stationed in the Mount Cook district, has resigned from tile police force to join the Reinforcements as a N.C.O. Last evening ; he was met by other members of the force at Mount Cook, and Senior Sergeant Dew made him a presentation, on their behalf, of a money belt, safety razor, and a case of pipes as a token of their esteem. Mr. D. T. King, who has filled the position of superintendent of the Carterton Metluidist Sunday School for the past thirteen years, has been presented with a handsome illuminated address, as a token of esteem on the eve of his retirement. Cleanliness 13 a virtue—it is also a necessity in the home, and you will find the "Daisy" Vacuum Cleaner a great acquisition in your cleaning operations. It thoroughly cleans! and lightens your daily work to a marvellous degree. The "Daisy" is a daisy, there'B no doubt, and if you call wo will show you how simple it is to operate and how low it is in price. , Oscar Hewett and Co., Ltd 5G Cuba Street (just "below Bank of N.Z.)—Advt.
