The executive of the New Zealand Alliance met last evening to complete arrangements for the 30th annual meeting, which is to commence this morning at 10 o'clock". The following resolution was adopted "X'lat we place on. record the fact that the following Press message has been received from Adelaide to-day in answer to an inquiry concerning a Press message which appeared in tlie Wellington papers on Saturday last:—'Adelaide, via Pacific, Juno 3, 191G.—Convictions for drunkenness about same as before six o'clock closing owing to increased vigilance of police in city. Edwards, Inspector Metropolitan Force, declares marked improvement general conduct in streets. . Policy of clearing streets early adopted lost offenders should become nuisance. Practically no drunks about Into, benefits of reform unquestionable.—(Sgd.) Stanton."
