L NEW ZEALAND ENGINEER'S PRIVATE OPINION OP THE STUDEBAKER. The Tourist Motor Co., Hastings, knowing that we sie closely interested in Studebakor motors, have forwarded to us a copy of a lengthy business letter sent them bv Mr. Allan H. M'Lean, the on-' gineer of their firm, who is at present in Detroit, investigating the claims of the 1918 models of the great American automobile manufacturers. The Tourist Motor Co. have very courteously given us permission to publish extracts from the letter, and-we extract the following para"rnph as likely to interest owners and prospective owners of Stndebaker cars:— "My honest opinion about tho Stndebaker car is that it is the best value for money on the American market, and as far as finish and workmanship aro concerned it is .second to none I consider that wo would be foolish to take up the agency for any higher priced car that is built here, because if we repaint, the Studebake'r and equip it with wire wheels it would be equal to the Minerva in appearance mid quietness of running, '"lie on"ine is the cleanest designed one .that I have inspected" It may bo explained that Mr. M'Lean's mission to America was to secure tho agency of a high-priced American car to take the place of the (inn's Silent Knight Minerva, agency. There is a good market in .ITawke's Hav for the very best ear obtainable, regardless of price. Mr. M'Lean's honest opinion i'ou'hnling the Studebakor is that there is no "American car on the market Letter than the Studebakor at any price. Tho live-seater touring Stndebaker (-t-eylinder, "5 li.p.), with electric self-starter and t-lec-tric lights, sells in New Zealand for the thrce-scater Studebakor, with same equipment, being priced at J.m Adams, Ltd., N.Z.
