BOND STORES DESTROYED
BIG FIP.E AT DARLING HARBOUR. By Telegraph—Press Association—Copyright Sydney, Juno 2. A fire destroyed Simpson's bond stores, Darling Harbour, and the contents of' copra, cliaff, and ivaol. Two soldiers who were assisting the firemen were iujured, and taken to hospital. The damage at Simpson's bond is estimated at X'1W),000. It is believed the fire was caused by spontaneous combustion. (Reo. June 2, ld.lo p.m.) . Sydney, J una 2. Simpson's fire was the largest in recent, years, and is still smouldering. The cause and exact damage' has not been ascertained, Several Sussex Street firms hitvo suffei'tvl heavy losses, and also Messrs. Burns, Piulp and Co. (-Jteainsiiip owners), and the Commonwealth Government. The iire brigade effected wonderful 6av« in adjoining stores.
