operations at Ellerslie. A record num. bar of horses worked, the grass and sand being the principal tracks usod. Before breakfast Lolomi ran seven furlongs on the sand with the assistance oi Viuaka over the last four furlongs, which took 52 2-ssec. Soultikoft went better than Signo, Tragedy King, and Tact over seven furlongs 011 tho grass, the last six taking lniin. 2see. Castalia beat Inspector over six l'urlongs on the grass in lmiu. -1 l-ssec.
After J;ho interval, Royal Chef galloped four furlongs in 51 4-ssec. laying Start, Battle live, and San Sebastian finished together at the end of seven furlongs on the sand in lniin. 33sec. Multiply beat Ladogeur over seven furlongs 011 ilhe grass, the last taking lniin. Dsee. Harbour Light and Styros went a round of the sand in 2min. 2 4-ssec.
