ONSLOW BOROUGH COUNCIL
I « The fortnightly meeting of tho Onslow Borough CounciL was held last evening, tho Mayor (Mr. C. C. Crump) prosiding. The following were also present: Councillors W. Appleton, A. E. Budd, A. W. C. Palmer, L. A. Browne, J. G. Smith, and C. Bowden. A letter was received from the Lower Hntt Borough Council suggesting a further conference of three representatives (including tho Mayor or chairman), from each of the contributing local bodies re tho Wellington Hospital and Charitable Aid Board's increased levies for this year; After considerable discussion it was resolved to appoint the following, to meet the delegates from tho Lower Hntt Borough Council The Mayor and Councillors J. G. Smith and W. Appleton. Tho New Zealand Catholic Federation wrote asking for the council's support in promoting immediate legislation with respect to the censorship of kineuia films. It was decided to appoint Councillor L. A Browne to attend a meeting in this connection on June 8. Complaint, was made by three ratepayers of the dangerous speed attained by certain motor-cyclists on tho road between Ngaio a«d Khaudallah. It was decided, to write to the persons concerned informing them that if the practice did not cease prosecutions would follow. "That the Railway Department be asked to remove tho turnstile at the eastern entrance to the Ngaio Station as it is a needless obstruction to free access," was a motion moved by Councillor Browne, and carried unanimously.
