At the Petone Church of Christ oil Ti»«Klay a farewell social was tendered to Mr. H. Grinstead, who has been in charge of tho Hutt and Petone circuit for the past two years;. and is leaving shortly for Palmerston North. Mr. W. A. Taylor presided, and there was a large attendance. During the evening Mr. M. Vickerjr, representing the Home Mission Executive, Mr. Phillips, evnugelist of Wellington South Church, and Mr. P. Bolton,- • from Nelson (who succeeds Mr. Grinstead, and to. whom, a welconib was extended), delivered appropriate addresses. . Mr. Owen presented Mr. and Mrs. Grinstead, on behalf of tho Lower Hutt Church, with a butter dish, and on belufif of the Petone Church, Mr. GrinStead was tlrt recipient of a travellingrug, Mr. G. Mooro making the latter presentation. Mrs. Grinstead received from tlie Petone Ladies' Sewing Guild a serviceable • present, Mrs. J. Battersby tendering the gift on behalf of the guild. Miss B. Ashby presided at the piano, and, Mrs. A. Walstruni recited. '
