Sir Oliver Lodge, in the course of an address at Birmingham University, when introducing Mr. William Hughes (Prime Minister of Australia) for the presentation of his honorary degrees, said that all the British Dominions and dependencies of the Empire had been united in love and loyalty, and had given, strenuous help to tho Motherland when she had been attacked by a brutal and insidious foe, who was diabolically efficient in unscrupulous warfare.
