WAS ABOUT TO UNDERGO AN OPERATION. By Telegraph—Prcse Association—Copyright Paris, May 29. The late General Gallioni was about to undergo an operation. Ho was extremely weak, and unable to take nourishment. Tho doctors tried blood transfusion, but this was unavailing. General Gallioni was regarded as the saviour of Paris. During the critical days in August, 1914, ho rushed 80,000 of the Paris garrison from Paris to the battlefront, and they turned the tide of the great struggle of the Marne in faTOur of the ITronch.
