BIG CHURCH PARADE
ON SUNDAY NEST, AT NEWTOWN PAIUC. The church parade arranged by the Wellington Patriotic" Society for Sunday afternoon next, in honour of Empire Day, promises to be a very impressive and inspiring gathering. Colonels Potter (Trent'ham) and Adams (Featherston) 'have promised leave to a thousand men from each camp, and while it will not be compulsory on them to attend the church parade they will be expected to 'do so. The Featherston men will come to town on Saturday evening. The sth Regiment is being requested to turn out, and fho National Deserve, .Senior Cadets, Boy Scouts, and Veterans are also to be present. Most of the troops concerned will assemble at Bunny Street at 2.15 p.m., to march to Newtown Park, picking up details at Courtenay Place (east), which is a convenient assembly point for some units of the National Eeserve. The column so formed will be played to. the park by seven (perhaps eight) bands. These will be the sth Regiment, the Trentham Camp, Patriotic Society, N.Z. Natives' Association, Central Mission, Tramways, and Salvation Army Bands. It is possible that the Waterside Workers' Band may also turn out.. ~
At the park' a brief service will be lield, consisting of hymns, a prayer by the Eev. Archibald Hunt, a short address by the Eev. Itnowles Smith, the Doxology, and finally the National Anthem. The Ministers, members of both Houses of Parliament, members of the City Council, etc., have been invited to attend. If the weather is adverse the service will take placff in the Town Hall. A equad of returned soldiers, under Capt. Sim son, will bo given an honoured place in the column.
