The New Zealand Loan and Mercantile Agency Oo„ Ltd., Dannevirke/ report:—We held our monthly Makotuku sale on Wednesday, when we yarded. 530 sheep and 85 cattle, which, wo quitted at prices quito up to vendors' expectations. Bidding all round was of a spirited nature, and quito up to recent sales. Following are the quotations:—Fat cows. £5 95., £7 17s. 6d„ and £8; fat heifers, £5 155., £6 125., to £9 65.; forward empty cows, £4 15s. to £6 175.: two-year steers, £8; eighteen-month heifers, £3 7s: 6(1.; yearling bulls, £2 lis.; fiftcen-mohth steers, £3; yearling steers, £2 95.; f.m. ewes in lamb, 225. 7d., 225. 2d.; fat and forward ewee, 21s. 4d.; m.s. lambs, 15s.<-6d.; woolly lambs, 17s. 10d.; woolly small lines. 10s. 9d. to Ss. 6d.; S.D. rams, 12s.' Wo also sold:—One aged gelding and a few sundries, all seling at usual current values. The New Zealand Loan and Mercantile Agency 00., Ltd., report that at their weekly stock sale at Levin yards, on May 24, they, had a good entry of both sheep and -cattle, ajid sold the bulk of their entry at tho following nrices:—Fat ewes, 275., 30s„ 31s. ;■ email two-tooths, mixed ewes and wethers, 235. 9d.; two-tooth wethers 255.
