Messrs. Mansou' and Clark applied for a. permit to graze on area of about 400 acres of Crown land between Railway and Piopiotea Stream in Block XII, Kaitieko S.D., and it was resolved to grant it from year to year under Section 13U of tho Land Act, 19IIS, at a rout ot J220 per annum, subject to the usual conditions. With regard to Messrs. Crowther -'and M'Cauley's licenso to occupy Section 1, Block I\', Kaimanawa S.D., 15 , acres, it was resolved to rescind resolution of March 30, 1916, and to approve of their remaining in occupation lor a period of sis months from July 1, 1916; at a rent of JBl 10s. for said period. It was resolved to determine on June 30, 1916, Mr. H. W. Jordan's temporary permit to graze part section 27, Block V, Karioi S.D., 3 roods 0 perches. Mr. James Harrigan applied for a permit to occupy Sections 4-6, 11-17, Block I, Sections 1, 6-11, Block 11, and Sections I, 3-7, 9, 11, Block 111, lloropito West Township, and it was resolved to grant it from year tfco year under Section 130 oi tlio Land l Aot, 1908, at a ront of £2 per annum, subject to tho usual conditions and to determination over- tho whole or portion at any time. It was resolved to grant Mr. H. C. A letter was received from "the Makara County Council asking that tho grazing permit held over the unsold in Ha/wtrey Settlement bo cancelled, and it was resolved to obtain a report from the ranger ou the matter. It was TCRolved to cancel the permit granted on Jlay 27, 1916, to Mr. H. JurKens to split ..timber on Section 19, Block 11, Hinraa'S.D; It was resolved to declino an application from Mr. C. Campbell fot 1 a permit to split dead totara above Main Gorge Road.

It wag resolved to make a charge in favour of tho local authority against improvement money receivable on Sections 6 and 7, Block X, Rangataua Village, of i! 7 10s. 4d„ arrears of rates for two years' under .the power given by Section 149 (3) of the' Land Act, 1908. It was resolved to recommend that the section to sold to tho Natives at .£BO per acre, under Section 129 of the Land Act, 1908. Mr. A. Lassen and Mr. Ashton Kelsatl complained that the ren'ts charged for occupation of strips of Railway Reservo in Kairanga R-esorvo wero excessive, and it was resolved to fix the rent at 15s. an aero per annum. Mr. Henry Leighton applied for permit to graze cattle on portions of Sections 24, Block IV, Puketoi, and 30, Blook XV, 'Makuri S.D. Permission was refused.
