BILLIARDS
Quite a large audience, being in the -vicinity of one hundred, visited Messrs. Alcock and Cb.'s showrooms last evening to, .witness the further progress of the diner-tournament.- Tucker and Reade, twb veterans, were both playing at the top of their form and showed unmistakably the skill and knowledge of tho finer points they possess. Both players were again and again applauded for their efforts. The results of the games were as follow:—Tucker (owes 250) beat Green (rec. 25); Reade (scr.) bent Porter (owes 10), Kell (owes 50) beat Chant (lee. 25), Brown (owes 10) beat Billman (rec. 30). It was quite expected that Tucker would have made a break of a century, but in reaching 76 with tho balls in good position he broke down in what was, for him, a comparatively easy shot. Tho best breaks of the evening were:—Tucker. 7G. 56, 46. 40. .11, 20, 26. 21. 23; Kell, 31, 20, 27, 23; Brown', 37, 26, 23; Billman. 24; Reade. 30, 22, 25; Porter, 23. 20; Green, 25, 21; Chnnt, 26.'
