BILLIARDS
The games in tho Alcock tilliard-iinw tournament last night 'were of special merit. Breaks were larger and more frequent than on any previous occasion, and onlookers were time an<l- again treated to exhibitions uf clever shots and delicato play combined with judgment. The results were as follow:—Fraser (owe 75) beat Hart (owe 25), Be La tour (receive 40) beat Hemingway (receive 00), I'orteous (receive- 50) beat Hcmpton (receive 100), and Bradley (receive 30) beat Johnson (receive 100). The games between Fraser and Hart and De Latour and Hemingway 'were both ncck-to-neck from start to finish, each player showing signs of brilliancy and excellent knowledge of t.lie finer points. Tho best breaks recorded were- Fraser, 45, 31, 39, 25, 20; Homingway 52; De Latour, SG, 29; Hart, 38 j Bradley, 30, 27, 26; and Johnson, 30, SO. To-night, Chxint plays Kell, Green plays Tucker, Billman plays Brown, and Porter plays Reade.
