NATIONAL RESERVE
LOWER lIUTT UNIT. ■A spccial general meeting of tho Lower Hutt branch was held in tho Drill Hall, Lower Hutt, on Thursday last. Mr. Baldwin presided. Jlr. Clapham was elected lieutenant. The roport and recommendations of the recently .appointed executive were adopted, and in accordance therewith a subcommittee consisting of Messrs. Langford, Grierson, and' Fear was elected as Entertainment Committee to arrange for lectures and other, forms of entertainments to follow drill. A sub-committee consisting of Messrs. M'lvay, Stratton, and Prior was elected to control the shooting. (The unit lias a most np-to-date miniature rifle range and is at present holder of tho Wilford Cup.) It was decided that tho-branch should meet every Thursday; drill and shooting to ■ alternate. Lieutenant Gurden,'of the Headquarters Instructional Staff, attended, and explained the working of the new regulatioiisj aud the system of Swedish physical drill adopted for the use of the Reserve. A hearty vote of thanks to Lieutenant Gurden terminated tho meeting.
