Tho Russian entry into TreEizond has thrown a light en the fate of the Armenians. Three thousand of the leading families were ordered to procure wagons and, remove their goods. Four days later thp wagons were brought back—their occupants had been plundered and massacred. Other proups followed, and thus ten thousand of the Armenian populace were exterminated. i Practically the same programme was carried out in Erzerom, where the population was estimated at 35,000.
