Zurich, May 21. three German professors of Zurich University, named Gauenbruck, Ruge, and iehx, are carrying oil remarkable experiments in the military hospitals. They tram the muscles of amputated stumps to control the motion of artificial hands, so that they are ablo to, open and shut tho fingers, to fill a glass, and do other actions.
Xlio muscles of the stump are connected by means of catgut with the artificial arm and hand. Tho professors have discovered what muscles aro essential, and are therefore best worth preserving in amputation cases. They aro also experimenting in the transplanting of muscles!
