The officers of the Whakarua state that tho Hangatira is lying in an exposed position, and tlioro is little hope of salvinsr the ship entertained in Cape Town. The Government steamer Hinemoa. was at Napier: on Saturday, where she picked up 'tho gas reservoirs for teeharging tho autoniatic lights round-the coast. An arrival at Wellington early on Saturday morning from New York, via Auckland, was the C. and D. liner Indralema. She berthed at the Taranaki Street Wharf to discharge, and is expected to get ftway for Lyttelton to-morrow. It was originally intended that the Kowliai should leave hero for Hew Plymouth on Saturday. When she arrived off the ■ Heads from Lyttelton, however, she ■ was signalled to proceed on to Now Plymouth direct. The Ka.ru will be dispatched for Hew Plymouth to-morrow. Over two months ago tho WestpoTt Harbour Board's tug Mono, canio to Wellington. During that timea very extensive overhaul has been carried out, end it'was completed on Saturday. The little vessel arrived at Westport yesterday afternoon. After having been bar-bound at 'Hokitika for a considerable time the coastal stea-mer Defender managed to clear that port for Wellington at an early hour yesterday morning. Messrs. Dalget*" and Co. advise that tho Steamer Oropuki will arrive at Wellington from Lyttelton to-morrow morning. She will bo dispatched for Nelson direct tomorrow.afternoon. Having loft Auckland at 6.35 a.m. yesterday tho Now Zealand Shipping Cmpany s Rcmiiera should reach Wellington early to-morrow morning. The liner has comq from London, and has a largo general cargo to laud here. . . A wireless message has been received from tho captain of tho Huddart-Parker steamer Hivcrina, stating that he expected lier to arrive at Wellington from' Sydney at 7.30 a.m. to-day. The Rivcrma will berth ai the Queen's Wharf No. 6 to land 1273 tons of cargo as well as 142 passengers ' She will be dispatched for Lyttelton at 5 p.m. to-morrow, and will return Here in timo-to leave for Sydney at 5 p.m. on Thursday next.
