EL ARISH BOMBARDED
FORT REDUCED TO RUINS By Telegraph—Press Association—Copyright . London, May 19. Ofßodal. —Our warships, aeroplanes, arid seaplanes bombarded B1 Arish, ninety-five miles east of Suez Canal, on the Mediterranean coast, an important post on the enemy's Syrian communications.' On the morning of the 18th our ships shelled a fort, which is'believed to have been reduced to ruins. The seaplanes opened' au aerial bombardment, the aeroplanes following, and engaged hostile . aircraft, Special attention was given to the enemy camps. Three bombs exploded among a column of troops, a thousand strong. All tho camps were effectively bombarded. Al! the ships and machines returned safely. The weather - during the past week has been abnormally' Hot. The' troops are itt good health.
