A "ROYAL TIME"
NEW ZEAXANDER3 AT SUCKING: HAM PALACE. Lanco-Gorporal I). Guy Jlunro, son ot Mi-, and Mrs. D. Jlunro, of I'ark Street, Wellington, who was wounded in tho leg at Gallipnli, writes intorestingly to his parents from St. Thomas's Hospital, Loudon, under date March. So. "first of all," he writes, "I must tell you about the entertainment at Buckingham Palaco on 'Thursday. The Xing entertained about a thousand wounded men a day on Tuesday, Wednesday, and Thursday. Wo left the'hospital at 2 p.m. in brakes from tlio Royal stables, and on arrival at the Palace we at once sat down to tea. All the watting was done by Indies of title, and tlio tea was very nice. About 3 p.m. the King, Queen Mary, Queen Alexandra, Princess Mary, Princo Albert, and the rest of . tho Boyal Family came in, and walked round the tables, chatting here and there with the mon. Queon Alexandra was very gonial, and seemed full of fun. After tea, we all adjourned to the Biding School, which had been converted into a uonccrt hall for the occasion. A splendid programme had been arranged, all the leading stags stars giving of their best. We were all given., an invitation card, niul I got- some very good signatures on mine, including those of Princess Mary and the Princess Royal. .After tho concert, as the Royal party was railing out, the King stopped and spolcp to mo, aiid asked mo if my leg had been comfortable during the concert. Queen .Alexandra also came up, and spoke a fey words to me, so I felt highly honoured. Wo arrived back here at 7.30 p.m., after ono.of tlie best outings I havo ever had Everything was woll managed, and all the big people were very kind, and could not do enough for us. . . . "On Tuesday I had a lovely outing. Lady Cole took four of us (who are chums) down to hsr sister's (Lady Annesley) place in 1 Sussex. Wo left hero at 10.a.m. in a beautiful Rolls-Royce car, and arrived at out destination at noon. It was. a 35 miles' drive, and was just grand. After a lovely dinner there and a good look round tlio grounds, we adjourned 'to the dtawing-room- and had somo nice music. . I snug and recited, and we had some nico afternoon tea; left thero at 5 o'clock, arriving homo at 7 o'clock after a . very enjoyable outing, lady Cole has been exceptionally good to mo, and she has been looking after mo ever since I came here. On Wednesday T. was out in Mrs. Riddifortl's car, and then to tea: at her place."
