M'Aneny, of AVanganui, of Hie AVellington Infantry; who was taken prisoner by the Turks at GallipolWays on a postcard sent from Bileinidik/p-' 1 have had 110 news from any of yon at jiomo since being captured. I. am wording at. my trade (Sergt. M'Aneny was a carpenter), doing light work, as my hand still troubles- me. Have had frequent attacks of rheumatism lately, otherwise I am in the best of health. Am fed np of this. The summer is coming on now, a change after the snow we have had." By the postmarks'. 011 the' card it. is' evident, the card travelled to New Zealand via Geneva (Switzerland) and London. Mrs. Welsh cannot understand why her brother Ims received no letters, as many letters, parcels, and papers have been sent to him via the High Commissioner in London, who, it was understood; was forwarding on such communications through tho American Consulate at Constantinople. This may have :been drine, but it is perhaps not' 1 Quito so easy a matter'to communicate with .prisoners, in Turkey as it should-be..'
