The big battle between the Austrians and Italians in the Trentino, is we are told to-day, being waged over a 15-mile front. The enemy is trying to break' through to the Venetian Plain, but so far he has achieved nothing material beyond forcing back the Italian advanced posts. The Italian line ■ has been straightened and the concentrated fire of massed guns of every calibre has wrought terrible havoc in the Austrian ranks. The Air Service has been vindicated, and Mr. Pemberton Billing badly squashed. 4 late message , from New York reports the capture of 37,000 Turks and vast quantities of nsinitiohs by the Grand Duke Nicholas.
