ONSLOW BOROUGH COUNCIL

A meeting of the Onslow Borough Council was 'held last evening, the Mayor (Mr. C. C. Crump) presiding. There were also present Councillors H. Brenton-Eule. C. Bowden, J. M. Dale, A. E. Budd, and A: W. C. Palmer. Tho Mayor was appointed delegate to represent the council at the meeting of Mayors and chairmen of local bodies to be held to-day to discuss the increase in tho Hospital and Charitable Aid Board levy for the year 1916-17, and also to take steps to enforce payment of all - out-, standing hospital accounts. . Councillors were of the opinion that tho only way to solve tho problem was by nationalisation of hospital and charitable aid bodies. , . It was decided to fill in a depression ■in the road that exists opposite Mr. H. H. A. Henai's property at Ivhandallah when spoil is available. Subject to filic approval of the' engineer anplications were granted to Mr. J. E. Fitzgerald and Mr. Sydney Smith to erect motor sheds in the borough with doors opening on to the streets.
