WATERSIDE WORKERS
A special meeting of the 'Waterside Workers' Union was held in Xi store last evening, and was presided over by Mr. ]?. Curtice. Mr. Grayandler, secretary of the Agricultural and Pastoral Workers' Union, addressed the meeting, and.extended thanks for generous financial support the watersiders had' given his union. He assured tile meeting that funds were badly needed iu order that the back-bloeks country workers could be properly organised. The membership of his ,union was close upon 5000, and their aim was not to bring in to line the other unions, but to organise the units scattered over the country. A vote of thanks was accorded Mr. Grayandler, and the meeting expressed confidence in the organisation and in the work of organising the'country workers. Tho question of whether a levy should be struck in support of tho funds of the A.P.U. was held over.
