» ——- ■ A BECOKD YEAE. The eleventh annual report ,of the State.Fire,lnsurance shows a record lor 1915, as the; net profit exceeded any previous profit by 37 per cent. The amount of insurance written "'exceeded" .£17,750,000. The financial stability of the office is Btated to be beyond question. The, reserve funds total ,£116,000, and the reduced rates, represent' a 'saving to the. people of over £2,000,000. In view of the growth of the reserve funds, it is siiggested that the" time'is approaching when' surplus profits may be'distributed among the policy-holders who have, not made,, claims for losses, 'but the question ' requires careful consideration. had taken 30 per cent, of the male staff. The total aecumulatcd profits at the end of 1915 were J256.217. The year's inwme was i£TG,299, while the net losses : jvere, only .£27,470. ' V -
