PANIC-STRICKEN HUNS. By Telegraph—Press Association—Copyright (Rec. May 17, 8.25 p.m.) London, May 17. During the Sinn Fein revolt the Germans in the trenches opposite the Irishmen raised placards with the words: 'devolution in Ireland, English firing on your families, Military Bill rejected, Casement is bping persecuted, throw away your arms. Wc are Saxons, and if you do not fire wo will not." The Irishmen replied with singing Irish airs and "Rule Britania."- \ The sequel to the. above incident has now been published. Tiro officers and twenty-five men of the Munster Fusiliers were ordered to capturo tho placards. They crept out at night, and were halfway across the no-man's land between the opposing trenches, when the German searchlights found them. Two machine guns opened fire and 1 several tfcro badly wounded. The rest lay silent for hours, and then crept oil. ehpnsd the entangle-' monts and sprang into the trenches. The Germans were so certain that the attack had been driven off that thov were panic-stricken and did not wait for the cold steel, nnd the Minsters brought back the placards in triumph to the Irish trenches.
