This he teadily agreed to do, and some/" three iveeks ago accompanied Mr. King to Featherston and interviewed Colonel Mams. Mr. Horton expressed himself as being 'delighted with tho ' prospccts of beautifying the*camp. He agreed to. loan ■his landscape architect, Mr. Cook, who >vill design a complete scheme for the bamp, and also generously agreed to do- \ patb i! 75 worth of shrubs, roses, ana ' Jlowors. . , ~ Captain Sloane, one of tho medical omiers at i'eatherston, has consented to cooperate with Mr. King in the organising bf . the'■ work. The scheme mil include . 'the hospital grounds, the entrance to the camp, and the ijrcnind in front .of tin d at the back of, the Soldiers Club, i Tho Minister- of Defence has been con- ' Suited, and has expressed his approval of '. tho proposal. The plan ill be submitted to him for his approval when ready..' Mr. Cook . will .visit the camp nest week and design 1 the plan. A number of gen- > tlemen have already agreed to donate /shrubs, etc. V ~r The Y.M.C.A. has authorised Mr. King 'i to organise tho scheme, and so raise the necessary money to defray any expenses, thai may be incurred.
