A DEADLOCK
DOCTORS & . FRIENDLY SOCIETIES. There is still no news of any settlement between the representatives of the W-Mington Friendly Societies and the !"cal branch of the Medical Association. It is understood that the Friendly So metres' representatives held a conference on Saturday evening, succeeding on» held by the Medical Association on Friday last, but un till last night there had been no rapprochement on either side, so that tho deadlock continues. The New Zealand Natives' Association has, approached the Medical Association, asking for a conference to discuss the institution of medical benefits in connection with the members of tho former association on the basis of Us. per member per annum—the rate which H" Friendly Societies turned down at the conference held under the presidency of the Minister of Internal Affairs. 'The Medical Association is considering the proposal.
