WAR RELIEF

-« To illustrate the manner in which, the work of the War Relief Association is iiicrcasing, the secretary (Mr. Wills) informed a Dominion reporter . yesterday that at the lost meeting of the Relief Committee, of the association 07 cases were considered, and the business had to be extended over two sittings. In addition to tho secretary and two typists, there were- now employed in the work of administration lour honorary interviewers ol applicants, and two honorary clerks (Messrs. Clement Watson and D. M. Yeats), whilst Mrs. M'Ewen • was still doing excellent ivork as lady inspector. The' association acknowledges with thanks the receipt of a donation of .£IOO from Sharland and Co, towards the funds of the association. Under the rules of the association provision is made for annual and life membership. The former are admissablc on payment of a subscription of. ss. a. year, end, Hfo membership" may be secured on payment of the sum of .£s' ss. An active canvass for life members is being instituted and anyono wishing to join may do so on sending, their names, accom-. pnnied bv a cheQiw for the amount mentioned. 'So far the following have been elected life members •—Messrs. W. FerKuson, L. O. H. Tripp, J. Hutchcson, A. E. Pcarce, Alex Macintosh, M. Chapman, Mr. and Mrs. Sidnoy Kirkcaldie, and Mr and Mrs. John Kirkcaldie.
