The secretary' of ' the* Welling Licnsed Milk Vendors' Association (Mr. A. I'etherick) has addressed the following letter to the Mayor (Mr. J. P. Luke) :-"I .am . instructed by my executive to request the favour by your council that it will grant an application for the members of my. nssociation.and milk vendors generally to attend the next meeting of the City Council to place before it tho milk vendors' views regarding milk supplies and the clearing-house question "' " Mr. Petherick states that the object in making, the application is an endeavour to secure that opportunity for the' vendors' side of these matters to be presented to tho council and to the public, which has not been obtained by reason- of tho attitude adopted by the Mayor at two meetings-arranged in accordance with suggestions eman.iting from him. His association is of the opinion that up to the present sufficieut information has not been supplied by tho Mayor or the Health • Committee of the City Council to enable the public to know the extent to which it may he committed financially its ratepayers or the vendor to know how His business' jis likely'to be affected by the establishment of a clearing-house.
