? SEASON OPENS TO-DAY. Followers of the winter sport will no doubt be pleased at the announcement tnat the Rugby season opens as froni today, and that each Saturday matches will be played at the Athletic Park. To-day, commencing at 1.30 p.m., the seven-a-side tournament is being lield, in which sixteen club teams and eight Trentlinm teams will compete. In the latter teams many well-known players will, be recognised, and as there is considerable keenness between the various companies some fast games may be seen. The final :s tuned to'take place at 4,30 o'clock. Next Saturday the usual competition will be commenced, and, as in to-day's games,_ the camp' teams will probably play in a special competition, and their games will doubtless attract the most attention.
