- — <? r SUMMARY AND FORECAST AT 4 P.M. YESTERDAY. Present indications arc for cast to southeasterly gales, stormy weather, heavy rain, and rivers rising in the north and East Coast districts, snow on higher . levels, and. probably colder. Barometer unsteady, and falling., again shortly in •the south. The northern ' storm area, has extended southward, and south-easterly gales are reported in and northward of Cook Strait, with considerable rain.
