TWO FOREIGNERS ARRESTED
* BY ORDER OF THE MILITARY AUTHORITIES. By Telogranh—Press Association. Palmerston North, May 10. Two foreigners, I. Schack and A. Komashko, purporting to bo Russian journalists travelling around Fno world on foot, and who wero recently in Palmerston North, were nmsted to-day at Levin under instructions from the military authorities. Both tho military and police officials arc extremely reticent regarding tho matter, but startling developments aro expected in a fow days. It appears that the two men have teen travelling about the country ostensibly lor the purpose of gaining material for future articles in the Russian Press. Though they had apparently liona fido passports, their nction aroused Ilia suspicious of the military: authorities, who kept a watch on Ihem. It appears that ■the. two men were seen near Rangiotn Camp, and spent a right at a place near there. This confirmed the suspicious of the military authorities, with the result that the communicated with.
Constable Wood, of Levin, traced the i'men to Foxton, to find that they had taken the road to Levin, and fhey were finally arrested at Levin. The two men have been brought to Palmerston Police Station, and searched. The search did not reveal much of an apparently incriminating character, although a photograph found on one of the men bore lbs name of a Hamburg photographer. They will •be locked up ponding the pleasure of the military authorities.
