NAVY LEAGUE
SAILORS' COMFORTS FOND. In addition to the sums previously acknowledged, the local branch of tho Navy League has recently received 21s. from Mr. I l '. ■ Rowley, and 20s. from an anonymous donor' This makes a total of *£223 10s. 3d., but further amounts are much needed. Several substantial private donations from the country districts have been: supplemented by amounts received from the Navy League school branches and from schools outsido tho league. Tho sum of £15 was, by request of tho Headmasters' Association, specially allocated to H.M.S. Agamemnon, in tho Dardanelles. This was done mt ; of compliment' to that ship's commander, Captain H. A. Fyler, who when in Nf.w Zealand waters, showed great consideration and 'courtesy to tho sciiaoi members. A letter has just been rect.ivod from Captain Fyler, ( warmly iuankiug the league, and suggesting to tho I.cndon Headquarters that as a means of perpetuating the gift, the £15 shouild be expended in purchasing a library of books, sclectcd, lor the use of iiie man. liach book is to bo inscribed "Presented to H.M.S. Agamemnon by th'o Wellington Branch of tho Navy League.'*
