4. NEW ZEALAND ENGINEER'S PRJt VATE OPINION OP THE STUDIH BAKEH. TiTe Tourist Motor Co., Hastings, knowing that wo are closely interested in Stutlobnker lr.otorij, have forwarded to lis a copy of a Tongtliy business letter sent them "by Mt. Allan H. M.'Leau, the engineer of their firm, 'who is at present in Detroit, investigating tho claims of tho lDlli models ot' the great American automobile manufacturers. Tho Tourist Motor Co. huvo very courteously given us permission to publish extracts trom tho letter, and wo extract tho following paragraph as likely to interest owners and prospective owners of Studobaker cars:— "My houost opinion about tho Studebaker car is that it is the best value for money on the American market, and as far; as tliiWii and workmanship are. concerned it is second to none. I consider that wo would bo ioolish to take up tho agency for any higher priced car that is'built here, because if we repaint the Studfy uakcr and equip ii with wire wheels it wov.ld be equal to the Minerva in appearance and quietness of running. The engine is the cleanest designed one thnt I, have inspected."' It may be explained that Mr.' M'l.eaii's mission to America was to secure the agency of a high-pmed'-American car to take tKe place o£ the tirin's Silent Knight Minerva agency. There is a good market in Hawke'a Bay for the very best car obtainable, regardless of price. Mr. M'Lean's honest, opinion regarding tho Studehnker is that there Is no American car on itie market better than the Studebaker.at any price, Ths five-sealer touring Stndebaker (4-cylinder,' 25 h.p.), with electric self--t;-i'ter and electric lights, sells in New Zealand for .£315, flic thre-'-seater Studebakcr, with satua rnuipment, being priced at .£335.'
