Bd.; bran advanced to £4,' end pollard to £7. Oats.—The market is lifeless. There are no'offerings on the basis of Southland values.' Garten's are worth only 2s. at country stations. ' The potato market is quiet, with-not much offering. Shipments ' have been made to Australia, a'nd graders are requiring, shippers to strictly comply with the regulations regarding the : condition of potatoes required by. the Australian authorities... The price remains «t £4 to £4 65. at country stations, but most buyers are offering a lower figure.

MOSEY MAKKET. . The Bank of Kngian-a discount rote w:<h on January 2, 1914, Teduced from 5 to 4J per cent., on January '11 it was reduced to 4- per cent., and on January 25 3 per cent. On July 50 the rate .was raised to 4 per cent-., and on July 31 it was raised to 8 per cent., and on August 1 it was further advanced-to 10 per cent. On August 6 the rate was reduced to 6 per cent., on August ' it was further reduced to 5 per cent., ai which rate it now stands. The Bank of Prance rate is 5 per cont., as esainst 4 per cent, prior to tho war. OPES MARKET BATE. Tho open market discount rat© lor three months' bills is 3 9-16 per cent., as compared with 4 9-16 per cent, last week, and 25 per cent, last year.
